Here are some basic resources for anyone who wants to get involved in the decisions the government is making about the civil rights of people with disabilities.

The Home Page of the Massachusetts Legislature
From this website you can search for bills filed in either house of the Massachusetts Legislature. This MAVIS website will be linking to bills affecting visually impaired students. You can also find and contact your own state Representative or state Senator by entering your zip code.

Governor Romney's Office
MAVIS will also be linking to announcements of interest from the Governor's office.

Federal Government:

The United States Senate
From this site you can research bills filed in the Senate.

Senator Edward M. Kennedy's office
Here you can e-mail Senator Kennedy and learn about the committees he serves on.

Senator John F. Kerry's office
Here you can e-mail Senator Kerry and find out what committees he is on.

Political News:

C-span
C-span is a cable network offering live broadcasts of sessions of the States Senate and House of Representatives. You can find a schedule of programming on the C-span home page.

Thomas U.S. Congress on the Internet
You can use Thomas to get the current status of any bill filed in Congress. You can also compare the House and Senate versions of a bill.
